Seriously, I was being a bit sarcastic since they hung those banners up to
Discover Snow Hill", Population about 1500 if we count the ones housed in the county jail.
We are about 90 miles from the coast being Wilmington and Morehead City. Wilmington might be closer to 100 miles SE of us. We are about 55 miles from the Pamilco Sound area too. Snow Hill is your typical small town. People have more pride than they do money most of the time. But we don't seem to mind. I guess I have lived here too long to know how to live anywhere else.
I looked at Snow Hill. The crime is 4&5. Would like to get into the 3's

Skout....just food for thought...I see that you keep quoting Sperlings on their crime stats and such. Honestly I do not know how much fate I would put into some of their info....especially in smaller cities/towns. Just for example I looked at the crime stats for Tega Cay, SC on Sperlings (they have it listed as a 1/2)....which sounds pretty good but I would even question those figures. According to the site it states these figures were updated in 1/05. Personally if I were you I would go directly to the police or sheriffs websites or give them a call for more up to date information before you scratch a town of your list. A couple of other things I noticed was the population stats were off for Tega Cay and the Fort Mill, SC schools had a couple with no student figures (which is not the case), while some of the other school counts are off too. Again just something to think about.

I know my area is dead-on the money. But, I 110% agree with you. There is another site I use also "areconnect" to get information which seems more up-2-date. Thanks for the information, you're right though.

I haven't really spent any time in Pinehurst. I went through it years ago and just know that it's a golf mecca. It seems to be a good area though from what little I saw and from what I've read.
