Any North Carolina residents on this forum originally from Pennsylvania Dutch (German) Country, other than myself?

Default Vee Bish Du?

Are you in NC now? Can you tell me exactly WHERE the amish in NC are? I have been calling town halls and the Budget and amish friends (new order) in PA. and as near as I can tell they are in the Elkin, Union Grove, Hamptonville area. I would like to live near them and would finally probably have a farrier who actually knows the correct way to shoe my mule.

I wasn't aware of any Amish settlements in NC. However, there are a number of Mennonite homesteads scattered throughtout the state. As I guess you know, only a very small fraction of Pennsylvania Dutch (German) are Amish or Mennonites.

Default Hamptonville, nc

There is an Amish Community in Hamptonville, NC. In town there, Tom and Sandi Coletti own and operate a Amish Store/ Bakery. A beautiful place. The people are wonderful. Good Luck
