My Husband, Son, and I are relocating to NC in the summer. We are planing a trip to visit NC in April. I am having trouble deciding whether we should go to the Cary area or the Hickory area. My husband will be looking for a job in either Drywall or IT. We need good schools. We would like to rent a 3BR apartment for around $800 or less, or We would be interested in a rent to buy home. We would prefer to rent a apartment first, then find a home or build a home in a small local town. Please can anybody help me (I can not wait to get out of here).

I think you can find what you want in, or around Cary, or at least in Wake County. and I think our economy is greatly more stable than you will find in Hickory.
PLEASE: Be very careful in the RTO, Rent-To-Own swamp. There be monsters there!
