I just found this today but it is an interesting comparison for what the same house costs all over the country.

Do you know if they publish this monthly. It'd be cool to throw it into Excel and chart it over the course of 2007. I'm still floored by the cost of housing in CA (where I'm from and own property). However, CA is starting to show signs of a declining market. A correction, if you will. Of course, prices will never be what they were prior to the turn of the century, I imagine we will be seeing some price drops in a LOT of areas this year (investor friends are apparetnly already worried).
