Thx that's an interesting and good link to have, but unfortunately it takes into account metro areas - I'm wondering about OUTSIDE the metro areas - ie general impressions of various towns/areas outside the cities - thx

OK, now I'm slightly confused. The link I provided has some pretty small population centers. Castalia, up in Nash County, for example, has a population of 340 of which 130 are African American. Taylortown, over in Moore County, has less than 1000 people and is almost 70% AA.

Maybe you could be a little more specific?

I could provide some personal impressions like here in NE Chatham my gravel road is about 50/50 African American & white, or people say that there are a lot of hispanics in Siler City, but I'm just not sure how useful that would be.
