Default Planned communities

My wife and I have been missionaries for the past ten years in Belize, Central America. We are planning to return home to North Carolina this year. We presently live directly on the Carribean and have had enough of salt air and we don't want to brave the winters in the mountains, so we are interested in the Piedmont (We lived in Charlotte area for many years.). We are looking for a planned community with club house, etc, but not necessarly for a health care community although my wife has suffered from a stroke. Are there any AFFORDABLE communities which will fit the bill. Remember, missionaries are not known for their wealth.

Well, affordable is a relative term, but from your description it sounds like you might want to avoid Charlotte. While you have been gone the population has quadrupled and housing prices skyrocketed. I would seriously suggest you check out the Greensboro area instead for what you seek. Welcome home!
