We want to live somewhere that there is a pretty downtown area with mature trees and white picket fences. We'd rather ride our bikes or walk to the grocery store than to have to get in the car and drive. We love historic homes and wouldn't be opposed to buying one and renovating it. However, we don't want to spend a small fortune on a home either, so the cost of living has to be reasonable. Low crime (although most places probably have a lower crime rate than Orlando) rates are a must. A place that values racial diversity is high on our priority list too - places that are home to organizations like the Klan are out. Does anyone have any ideas?
Have you looked at Greenille SC yet? I just saw some very nice youtube videos of some of the town and subdivisions... very worth at least checking out I think I don't know much about the area yet other than it's beautiful and seems to have that small town mayberry appeal... we are looking for very similar things for our future home There seems to be alot of talk and videos in the SC forum. Check it out!

Default TS Medley... have you found the perfect town?

We're thinking about moving, as well. Lived in Windermere many years, now in Winter Haven. Can't decide between Geo. N. or S. Carolina.

Have you checked out the area of Seneca SC?

We're also looking for Mayberry. If you don't mind the mountains, Dahlonega Geo. is an awesome town. I'd love to read about what you've discovered so far. Kaci in FL
