I would think so. At my place, the city sends out the water quality test results to all water subscribers once a year. I imagine other NC cities and towns do too. However, many NC residents have their own wells instead of using community treated water.

Apex, Cary, any of those areas? No power plants near by to destroy the water?

Well, the Shearon Harris nuclear power plant is located near Raleigh in southwest Wake County, but I imagine the water is constantly monitored by the Feds.

Well, I am on city water and they do test on it nearly every 6 months or so because back in the mid 90's we had a high lead content in it. It has not tested positive for it since then. But we went for a while that we used bottled water and this was when Brianna was a baby. Since she was a foster child, I had to do what they told me to although I was horrified and probably would have used the water for drinking or cooking with if she hadn't been a factor. It just kicked my motherly instinct into high gear. Some places and I remember as a child, my grandmother lived right on the Greene/Lenoir county line and her water was almost orange. It didn't kill anyone that consumed it but I bet I was 18 or so before I realized what color iced tea was supposed to actually be. Hers was nearly black. And it stained the commodes and sinks and the like. I live in Greene County and have been here nearly my entire life. Now when Brianna's mother moved to Edgecombe county, they had the same high ironed water that my grandmother had and it produced the same problems with stains and I remember Brianna's mother would ask me to wash some of her "special" clothes because it would stain them. They are finally on city water so their problem is solved. Well, except for the fact that inside of her dishwasher is stained orange and the tubs, showers, sinks, and the inside of the washing machine is the same color. She has tried a variety of things that she got or I bought for her and she has it under control to a certain extent but you can still see the orange in some places.

Do you work there? What do they actually do there?
