Move to Chicago instead. We have the world's largest Polish population outside of Warsaw...literally. This is by far the best place for Poles to live in the United States. We have Polish everthing...food, dance, music, bars, clubs, doctors, dentists, lawyers, insurance agents, real estate agents, schools, churches, auto dealerships, festivals, salons. Our ATM machines are in English and Polish. We have a Polish speaking TV stations and Polish radio stations. You can live in the United States but not let go of your Polish culture here.

I think I was in the nineth grade in school when I first heard about different nationalities living in North Carolina or the USA. Up until that time I had just always considered everybody as being American. I got an interesting e-mail recently about a speech on this subject that one of our statesmen made years ago. He basically said that if you are going to live in America, you should have allegiance for this country and forget where you came from, because keeping up with the old country separates us and we are the United States of America. I thought he had a good point.

For North Carolina Native.
In essence, what you said I agree to an extent. But you must remember that even the "native North Carolinians" (exception being those who are "pure American Indian") had their roots in Europe and elsewhere. Whether you realize it or not, most of the customs of "native North Carolinians" can be traced back to European roots, most likely, Scotch-Irish and English (or British). Its just that over the decades, people have forgotten and tend to take them for granted. Its just like Pizza - most youngsters think it is an "American dish" and not aware that its origins came from Italy. So just as some "native North Carolinians" can trace (or boast) of their families going back generations in NC (and even to Europe), others still like to hang on to their heritage as well. It doesn't make them any less American. Also consider the regional differences in this country - North, South and West. Again, each geographical region has its differences with the other regions, but in the end, we are all Americans. When one area of the country is in trouble, the other areas all pitch in to help. When we are at war, we (NORMALLY) fight as one united country. So while I agree with you that we are all Americans, we also ALL have our heritage and it is the melting pot of these collective heritages who make us what we are.

I just did a search on Fayetteville....if you're looking for Asian cuisine, there's plenty to choose from. Mexican & African Caribbean too.....but didn't see any other "international" food stores in Fayetteville.
