Yikes Rothgar! I guess I can only hope that you're not my neighbor when we move to our new town. Believe it or not, sometime in your past, you had relatives who moved to a new town as outsiders. Good thing people must have been more neighborly then, or you wouldn't live where you do now.

This COULD have been a fun, interesting thread, don't ya think?

I mean really, people who are looking to move to a smaller town are going to do their research anyway. And don't panic-you know where most transplants are moving to. I took the question to mean if you could move away from where you are, where would you go? Not, "Where do you live and how fast can I get my U-Haul there."

Pixie I suggest if you dont like something dont read it, its these rude comments that make the people from the gr8 state of NC form an opinoin of you Jersey people.

Hey Mountain Man,,, I think you are missing Pixieshmoo's point. He (or she) is really ventilating because there are allot of comments from locals that are really not helpful in answering the original posting/question. I live in So Cal and I can appreciate the question and would be frustrated too (after looking at the responses). I don't think NC residents are rude as much as protective of your way of life. The problem is someone who genuinely wants to know more about potential areas to relocate are done a huge dis-service by such clandestine, crytic comments from the NC resident/respondents.

Couldn't have said it better myself Wayne G. Maybe some NC natives think it's silly that us transplants are looking for a better way of life, but I hope that if any of them ever had to move to another state, they would get the answers they are looking for in a forum like this. I do have to add that most people that post have been great and I really appreciate it very much! It's been extremely helpful!

Am I blind or did I miss Pixieshmoo's post?

Mountain Man, Rothgar's comment was polite, in your opinion? Or referring to us as "you Jersey people"?

My point earlier was this thread (I think) was started for fun. Bethanytedder is always talking in wonderful detail about her hometown of Snow Hill. As wonderful and charming as the town sounds, I don't think transplants are flocking there. Are they, Bethany?

I think I'd like to divide my time between Corova and Sans Souci. Maybe have a secret hideaway in the Madison/Mayodan area. Or maybe up around Troy.
