Jerseymom..
I'm happy for you and your DH.. We are looking forward to our move as well. So far our future neighbors have been really nice to us, sharing info. Neighbors across the street have lived there for 45 years.
Good luck,
J

I know it's very emotional I'm a complete wreck. Today I told my Mother we were moving and I offered to move her too. She agreed and is all excited. Now I can't back out. We are going down to Charlotte the week after next for whirlwind house buying experience. You know if you watch house hunters it will be like that. I guess I would feel better if I knew all my kids and my friends were going. I feel kind of incomplete and I'm sure that's how you guys feel too. Well time will tell. We want to start building and our goal is to move when my twins graduate next May. You guys have to keep in touch with me until then. I know you'll all be good buddies by then.

Yeah I guess so........Also all my new neighbors here on this forum are moving there. I really didn't know anything about the Charlotte area. It has to be nice I trust the Cali's opinions. You are leaving so you won't be my neighbor and that's too bad you sound like a really cool person to have as a neighbor.

Oh well thanks. While I personally may seem neighborly, I have a feeling that you would soon tire of my daughter's unbelievably loud music that she plays almost 24/7. The walls shake, no lie. If we lived in a townhouse our neighborhos would think it was an earthquake lol. (don't worry though, NC doesn't really have earthquakes)

I am right there with you. I was born in raised in So Cal and have never lived out of state. My best friend that I have know since I have been 12 (I am 40 now) lives 2 miles from me, she is pretty much my sister. We are actually going to get the webcams for our computers so that instead of just chatting on the phone we can still see each other. It's hard not to be misty and I am going to ball my eyes out no doubt about it. But I have friends that are already planning to visit as they say now they have a reason to see the east coast/south.
It just so happens that I found out last week that my other friend from high school who is in Oregon now, her husband just got a job in Tennessee (he is from their) and she will be 4 hours away! We are so excited. It is going to be a huge adjustment but I know we are doing the right thing. We just had our 12th open house today and like you just waiting for the sell. Keep me posted.

I see a pattern we are all around 40. We will all have to get together and drink to new beginnings. When one door opens another one closes.
I was listening to that Billy Joel song yesterday.........Say goodbye to Hollywood. The lyrics says ........Life is a series of hello's and goodbyes and I'm afraid it's time to say goodbye again. I heard it yesterday and it's like I heard it for the first time, I thought of our high school friends that live here and we have to say goodbye again.

How did you know I just turned 40? Your right, this is a good time for new beginnings. I think I'm going to like the 40's, and yes, I too will miss my friends. My best friend lives down the street, and her son has been best friends with my boys for 10 yrs! Oh, I see the tears coming! But they too, have promised to visit next summer, so we'll see. Seattle is a long way from NC! So yes, a toast to new friends!
