The other one is the best. 76k in 1990 to 379k in 2000. Is this suppose to impress me? The CA border patrol apprehends 3 times that many each year and that is a fraction of the amount that gets in.

You don't seem to be grasping the point. Stay with me here..... it said fastest GROWING hispanic population. That means that a larger PERCENTAGE of immigrants are coming to NC. Is it really that hard of a concept? Yeah, of course AZ, CA, NM, and TX have much larger numbers of people jumping the border into their states, but with the huge hispanic populations there already, it's just a drop in the bucket. The point is that Hispanics make up a much larger precentage of the population in NC now than they did in the 90's. and that growth in PERCENTAGE is the highest in the nation.

I don't care about people's origins. What I can't handle is people from other countries living here who despise Americans, and would never in a hundred million years consider trying to learn English.

Looks like a pretty enticing invitation to move to L.A., eh?

I wish I could find a retired couple who were looking for a quite town in NC.
If the would move in and take care of a nice little motel and I would furnish
about everything you need down to a private telephone line

If you are looking for counties with an above average percentage of Hispanics, you're going to be disappointed with Buncombe County and Henderson County. More counties in the Piedmont and Coastal Plains Regions have a much higher percentage of the total population than any county in the Mountain Region. Duplin County is Number #1 with 15.1%.

Hard to say what percentage of those percentages are undocumented residents. Don't know how anyone could get a reasonably accurate count on that.

absolutely... probably most of them are undocumented... i know the 3% or whatever it was in buncombe co is probably wrong... if that's the case, then all 3% lives in my apt complex, and i find that hard to believe, especially now that i heard that hendersonville is the "new lation ground zero." seriously???
