The best resturant I've been to was called Bella Italia, but that was in my Army days in Germany, so it's nice to hear the name again! The best pizza I've ever had was in Chicago. Thick, and covered with olive oil. ![]() |

Well, in Ny everyone seems to have a favorite, and there are thousands to choose from, and almost as many styles, so moving to the southeast is a big change. That being said, you can find good pizza, even great pizza, just not all over the place... only in a few places. But, if one is looking to avoid congestion, too much shopping & commerce, etc., then 1 or 2 is enough.

I think there are several good places to grab a slice here in Raleigh. I know it seems to be a big concern for people coming here from up North, but there are plenty of folks here who enjoy pizza as well so you have many choices outside the typical chains. When I lived in NJ I recall going to plenty of pizza joints that sucked, so I think there is good and bad pizza no matter where you live!

Venero's in Clayton is a New York style pizzeria - we really like it! It's on Route 70

The best Pizza in NJ IMHO is Bayonne thin crust.
Sorry but Chicago pizza is not pizza. If you can't pick it up and fold it over it ain't pizza. NJ pizza expert, E |

You might want to try making your own sometimes. I think the sauce that is sold to pizzarias is better than the stuff in the supermarket and also cheaper per ounce. If you buy those large gallon cans you can divide up the extra and freeze it. A pizza stone will pay for itself. That just leaves some dough and the toppings. I make pizza once/week when I make bread and my family really enjoys our "pizza party."

in Greensboro go to Elizabeth's or Bill's Pizza Pub
Randolph County-Bill's Pizza Pub Rockingham County-Tiano's, Elizabeth's Greensboro-Cellar Anton's Greensboro- Olive Garden for Italian-not sure about pizza Kernersville-Amalfi's In -Laws are originally from PA- then Maryland- now live in Kville and these are their choices you may find some of these near Raleigh-(check the internet I suppose for that ) especially Elizabeth's-there are several of them around Greensboro I personally can't take too much red sauce and Bill's has a pub special to die for (everything on it but the kitchen sink and they go easy on that red sauce) |

Good pizza in Raleigh?
4 Best Places: Lily's Pizza, Glenwood Ave at Fairview Rd, Five Points. Moonlight Pizza, West Morgan Street at Boylan, downtown. Mellow Mushroom, West Peace Street at Glenwood Ave, downtown. I Love NY Pizza, Hillsborough Street at Chamberlain St, NCSU area. |

I personally don't like Bill's Pizza Pub. But then maybe it was just that one location. (On Randleman Rd., not far from highway 62. Out in the country.) I also don't care for Elizabeth's. *shrug*
I'd love to find a good pizza place here in Greensboro, but after so many disappointments (chains, Bill's, Elizabeth's), I've pretty much given up. I now make my own. It's very good. If you ever decide to take a trip to the beach, I recommend Roma's in Atlantic Beach and Long Island Pizza in Surf City. Long Island Pizza (which is owned by New Yorkers - they have the accent and the place is decorated with pictures of New York) has the best pizza I've ever put in my mouth. |

Bella Italia also has a place in North Raleigh, agree, very good pizza. Also good is San Carlo's and Guianni & Guiseppi (spelling?) in Wakefield.
