I have heard that some places have the water shipped in from NY to make the pizza dough. Apparantly its got something to do with the water making it taste good.
Assagios is in Fuquay-Varina and I like them the best.

Enough about the pizza, where can an ex-Yankee get some real seafood? And I mean lobster and scallops and stuff you would find in Maine? All I find around here is fried or breaded fillets and yucky little shrimp and crayfish at seafood places. Thats NOT seafood. Thats like a McDonalds filet-o-fish without the bun.
any suggestions?

Since the question asks specifically about Cary / Raleigh I cannot provide a pizzaria. I have lived in Charlotte and found several places that made very good pies.
For those of you who are pizza gourmets, I suggest reading the Book "American Pie: My Search for the Perfect Pizza" written by Peter Reinhart. While he does not speak directly to North Carolina, he writes of his search & findings in Italy and the States. Plus he has recipes for those who think they are pizza makers.

Which city are you in?
If Raleigh, go to 42nd Street Oyster Bar.
