Moving to Fayetteville (Southern Pines, Aberdeen, Bath: apartment complexes, neighborhood, school districts)

My husband is Active Army and will be stationed at Ft. Bragg, we are seperating and divorcing but we have three children so I am wanting to move near there so he can maintan a steady relationship with the kids.

I don't want to be too close or too far from post - 20/30 minute max.
I need a good SAFE kid friendly neighborhood and I'm wanting to look into apartment complexes. I am obviously wondering about the school districts. I don't want to be out in the country or right in the mix of city.. (boy I sound picky huh?!)

Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

I would look into Southern Pines or Aberdeen. It is the distance you want and good schools. Also small town feel but has the normal shops; Walmart, Staples, Bath and Body works, TJ Max ect.
