I remember reading way back when that every lake in NC is manmade. Does anyone know of any natural lakes in the state? How about in nearby states within say, 50 miles of the border?

I'm pretty sure Lake Waccamaw in Columbus county is a natural lake along with White Lake in Bladen county.

In addition to Lake Waccamaw there is,White Lake, Lake Mattamuskeet,Lake Phelps,Jones Lake, and Salters Lake among others. These are Bay Lakes that are in Eastern N.C. I don't think there are any natural lakes in the Piedmont or Mountain sections of the state.
