Default Are there any low crime cities in nc?

I live in CT now and am looking to relocate away from the harsh winters we see here, NC is one state i have on mind (tn is another). While doing some reasearch I noticed most towns even the smaller ones are quite high in crime rates.
I am accustomed to living in a low crime area (1 in sperlings opinion) and i would like to keep it that way, Can anyone tell me if there are any low crime areas?

Default NC State Bureau of Investigation

Out of the state's major population centers, I would say Cary would have the lowest overall crime rate.

There are many small cities with low crime. New Bern and Morehead City are 2.

It's a mistake to consider the crime rate in Cary as if Cary were in a vaccuum. Cary is just a small part of of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill metro. Some parts are nicer than others.
