Hello

I was planning on moving to Statesville on 08/03/08. Im moving myself, my husband, and 3 year old to this place from North Philadelphia, PA. Is there any advice that someone could give? Im really excited for the quiet and scared of the new, can someone give me some insight? Thanks

We need to get a moderator to change the title of this thread so you will get more responses!

What kind of advice do you want? Do you have a place to live? Do you have a job? What did you want to know about Statesville?

Hi Denise!

What brings you to Statesville? This forum is a great place to gather info from. When I moved to Mooresville from NY, I found this site when asking for moving company references & have never left. Is there naything in particular you're looking for info on? Housing, schools, shopping, recreation, etc...

Also, I don't know if this is allowed, but since you have a 3 yr old, there's a mommies networking group you might want to check out. It's called Lake Norman Mommies. They're always having play dates with the kids, so that would be a good way for you to meet up with other moms & playmates for your little one.

GOOD LUCK & WELCOME TO NC!

BxRosie

Welcome to the Carolinas! I moved here from Maryland last November and I am happy to tell you, this is a GREAT place to live. You will LOVE the winters here compared with PA. Almost no snow and a "cold" day here is a "warm" day up there!

The people here are big-hearted, polite and friendly. This forum has been a tremendous help to me in finding everything from a hairdresser to a doctor to my favorite restaurant to a fantastic seamstress and the list goes on and on! Use this site and you should soon adjust to life here quickly.

Honestly, I think you will love living here..especially with a young child. Lots to do, to see and to enjoy. Again, welcome.
