Question Is there any decent towns close to Fayetteville?

Is there any towns with low crime rates and good school in commuting distance to Fayetteville? My husband could work in Raleigh, Charlotte or Fayetteville. My kids want a neighborhood with things to do, malls, etc. I want the least travel time to the ocean but only if it is a good area to raise my kids.
I had originally wanted Edenton because my husband can work in E city but the kids don`t like it and it is too close to the ocean for my husband. I`d like to find a happy medium.
Any suggestions????

west of Fayetteville, theres Moore County.

For budget living

- Lobelia & Vass which is off NC Hwy 690.

- Aberdeen & Pinebluff off US 1, US 15/501 and NC Hwy 211

For good living

- Southern Pines

- Whispering Pines (more senior citizens there though)

For the best living at a higher price

- Pinehurst

- Seven Lakes/Beacon Ridge (furthest away from F'ville)

You are much better off attending Moore County schools than in Fayetteville. The Cumberland Co. schools have way more problems while in M.C., there are more overcrowding issues but is a tranquil and good school system overall. Many familes who work in F'ville, live usually east of US 1 but have tehir children attend Moore County schools. The cost of living is probably slightly higher to a bit higher than Fayetteville but its worth it. Try to avoid Hoke and Harnett counties, they do not offer much.
