Default Relocating to Rocky Mount-looking for temporary housing

My husband has accepted a postion with a large company in Garysburg, NC. He will be moving down to NC in the begining of March. The rest of the family will follow 3 months after that. So, in the mean time, while we look for a house to buy in the Rocky Mount area, he needs a place to stay. We are looking for temporary housing that might cost him $300-400 per month in rent. Do any of you know of a site that might help us find such housing? There are many listings near Chapel Hill, but we were looking for something close to Garysburg.
Would also appreciate any thoughts that you may want to share about the Rocky Mount area.

Many thanks!

I'm not sure if you will find temp living in the price range you are looking in any neighborhood I would feel safe in. Enter Rocky Mount Apts in your search engine and you will find apts available down here. You can also enter Rocky Mount press in your search engine and apts and houses are listed. The average apt here rents about $700. for 2B/2B. Just be careful of the neighborhoods, there is high crime in some. We are renting a house in a quiet neighborhood, but are looking to buy a house in the Wilson area and west of there. Is your husband's company helping with the relocation? He could ask if the HR person could recommend an area. When we relocated my husband's company put us up for 3 months in a nice apt complex and because we wanted to get a better feel of the area, we rented a house for a year. Glad we did because I have found housing in another area that is safer than where we are living now. Good Luck, and research before making a decision about temp living.

Thank you Cassy. We are going to visit the area next weekend, and I hope to get a better feel for the area. Do you know anything about Rocky Mount? I am looking for feedback from people who live/lived there or near by. I am not set on Rocky Mount, but an area near Garysburg. I would be fine with a small town near a larger area. I just don't want to be totally issolated from civilization as I will be there without any family and friends!
