Emergency unemployment?
Hi all ~ has anyone out there been accepted for the EUC extension that was recently approved? And if so, was the procedure pretty much the same as the previous time you had applied or were there any new twists? I would imagine that the last company a person worked for would be notified of the new claim pending and wondered how likely companies are to dispute any additional benefit payments. I got the standard form letter saying I could be eligible, but fortunately, I expect a job offer to be forthcoming soon. In the event that the offer falls through, I would need to consider filing for the extension. Always strikes me as funny how those of us who pay into the system by being gainfully employed our adult lives often feel awkward at taking advantage of these benefits, while others seem to live for the handouts...
Thanks for any guidance!

Have you looked or applied online on their website? I've been on it quite frequently due to some emplpyment issues. I beleive it's a rather simple process from what I read.

The Claim I filed last Oct for unemployment was NOT approved and I ended up filing an Appeal twice that didn't work. I gave up on the Claim, then got the letter about EUC Extension, got on the phone and filed a Claim (could only file a EUC Claim over the phone), waited and waited for a letter of Approval or Disapproval and then ended up calling CO Unemployment and Labor Dept. Waited two hours to talk to them, but everything straightened out and got my EUC approved. So, even though my original Claim was not approved, I was still able to get the EUC Extension......don't ask me how, but I did. Next month I will be out of work for a year.

If you are currently receiving unemployment benefits, you just keep up your weekly claim procedure on-line and you will continue to receive benefits under the extension. If you are not currently receiving benefits I'm told that you have to register and claim for them. Good luck.

yea, I didn't have to do anything different. You just go online and file your weekly claim like normal. I had originally received notification through the mail when my benefits were going to end and that I qualified for the emergency unemployment. All I did was just keep filing like I do regularly.

New EUC Bill passed!! Another 13 weeks of Emergency Unemployment Comp is coming. Already got my first 13 weeks, will apply again for another 13 weeks! Hopefully, after wife and I move out of NC, within the next month or so, I will be about to find a job!

So it's def. 13 weeks? My 1st set of 13 weeks ends in Dec. So will I get another 13 weeks? There is nothing on the NC unemployment website yet that talks about it and I can't find it anywhere on the web.
