Kernersville, NC?
My husband and I are considering moving, with our 3 year old, to Kernersville. We're currently in Northern Virginia and our goal is to find an area with a lower cost of living so I can stay home with our son. We're looking for a 1-2 acre lot in a neighborhood setting, so we have the advantage of both a large lot and neighbors. Need access to a metro area for my husband's job, but we're attracted to a country setting. Any thoughts you can offer on the following will be most appreciated: (1) living in the Kernersville/Oak Ridge area; (2) schools in Guilford County (one home we're interested in would put us in the Guilford school district although our address would be Kernersville); (3) the Harvest Ridge development between K-ville and Oak Ridge; (4) conceptual road planned for the K-ville/Oak Ridge area that will conntect PTI to Winston-Salem; and (5) the commute from K-ville to Winston-Salem or Greensboro.
As relocating is for almost everyone, this is a huge decision for us. We appreciate any feedback - positive and negative - you can offer on this area. Also, any suggestions on other areas near W-S to consider.
