Smile Relocating to North Carolina

I am relocating from Florida to north carolina around March of next yearI was wondering if anybody could help me out and tell where is the best place to move to in North Carolina. Haven't decided where in NOrth carolina but looking. Not worrying about job cause I work for home but roommate is a nurse's aide. So looking for an area that is low on crimes and just a nice neighborhood. Also looking for something thats not too far from public transportation. Thank you

Well, you narrowed it down to Charlotte and Raleigh if public transportation is a priority. Charlotte more so than Raleigh since we have a more extensive system including light rail. But we are the largest city in the state and therefore do have the largest crime rates - though nothing like Detroit or New Orleans. Charlotte is a very nice city to live in, but we can't really suggest places for you to consider without knowing your price range.

Looking to rent up to $1000 per month. Public transportation is not a priority. Just wanted it near by just in case.

I still think Charlotte or Raleigh are you best bets. You'd want to plan a visit to each to get a feel for them and see if they appeal to you though. In your price range you can find a nice two bedroom apartment to rent in either city.

Lots of healthcare options in raleigh-durham area, might be good for nurse aide. I prefer RDU airport to Charlotte, depending on where if you need to fly out. Both areas have good housing market (compared to rest of the country).
