Question What is your favorite North Carolina city?

Which North Carolina city do you favor the most? Why do you prefer this city over others?

My favorite city in NC is Wilmington, because its a river city and near the ocean.

*BTW, this is a positive thread. I'm through with negative ones.*

Hard to choose between Greensboro and Wilmington. I wish we could've chosen more than one. lol I did finally choose Wilmington though since it's on the coast, I was born there and lived near there for several years as a child.

I also love Southport, Oak Island, Boone, Asheville and Pleasant Garden.

You can Flame Fayetteville all you want, but until you have lived there like I have for years, you will not find a better place to live. The housing is cheap compared to the northern cities and even the metropolitan cities in NC. The people are friendly, there are lots of quality places to dine out, The traffic admitedly could be better. There are ample shopping malls. Granted we are a military town but we embrace them and welcome them. The Fayetteville community has a very diverse population that gets along well. We are not that far from the beautiful NC mountains and only about an hours drive from the sea shore. The neighborhood, (34 hom es)I live in was developed 12 years ago and we have never had break in or theft here.

Default re

I voted "other," and it goes for Boone and its surrounding area. It's one of my favorite places in the USA, and I think the area has some of the greatest cycling roads in the nation. You can't beat a good climb up Beech Mountain or the spectacular views from Grandfather Mountain. And I think Boone itself has plenty to offer for a small city. Asheville comes in a close second for me in regards to NC cities.

I voted other for Maggie Valley, I love it there! It's close to the Parkway and the Smokey Mountains, we have stayed there several times, I wish we could afford to live there.
