Snow Hill in my novel (high school, live, bus)

Hi everyone. I was looking around North Carolina for a location for my novel. After stumbling across Snow Hill, I decided it was just the right place. However, I dont know much about the town itself, so if anyone who as visited or lived in Snow Hill could just fill me in on exactly what this small town is like, it would be much appreciated.

I am a life long resident of Snow Hill. What do you need to know?

The weather. How often does it rain? It's normally humid, right? What beaches do you usually visit, since you're so close to the shore? Is it the kind of town where everybody knows everybody? What is around town? Is there a mall, or a swimming pool? My character is going to school in Greene Central High School. Is there anything special I should know about the school, like sports they excell in? Is there a bus system, or is the town so small that one isnt needed?
Of course as I go along, more and more questions will develop, but a general knowledge of Snow Hill will really help with some small details in my story.
Any other trivia about your town would be awesome.
