Over yonder = Over There.

Pig pickin = It's like a social gathering usually consisting of a pig & beer.

Yep...if I tell someone I'm from near Clinton (because if I tell you where I actually live, you'll have no clue), I usually have to follow up with "Yes, Clinton, like the President."

I've heard it shortened up to simply "Clinnon" as well down south of Raleigh and to the east of here.

One lil saying my grandma always used when answering the ringing of the phone: "N'alright?" As if to say: Alright, I'm here, now what? Perhaps jes' a lil quirk of her own?

My uncle, who lived in Cherokee County for many years, would exclaim after a well-enjoyed, very filling meal: "I'm as stuffed as a tick on a seven day suck!"

And I have to point out that what you get at the Waffle House is hashbrowns. Home fries are cubed, not shredded Also, I moved from Greensboro to Lenoir about a year ago. I had never heard you'uns until then. I also never knew an entire town could be addicted to Sundrop, livermush, and something called chocolate gravy,lol.[/QUOTE/]
