I am looking for reliable (resonably priced) and prompt moving and storage service providers to move household stuff from NJ to Charlotte, NC. Any information, recommendations?

We used Gentle Giant as the moving company to move our stuff. It is highly rated, part of BBB and close to no complaints.

My friend owns his own moving company out of Huntersville CMTR Moving Services. Call Patrick at 704-947-6683. He moved me and is moving my parents from New Hampshire next week.

Good luck finding a honest mover!
My last experience: I was quoted a price based on 2500 pounds. When my furniture arrived at my new house the price had changed by an additional $1200. Mover said when they weighed it the weight was 3700 pounds.
It was cheaper just to pay the extra $1200 than any other option.
Since then I move myself.
Good luck,
Don

I was relocated by my company from NH to NC, they used an Allied company: Siracusa Moving & Storage and they were fantastic, I can't say enough about them.

A couple of people have posted regarding CMTR Moving Services from Huntersville, one happy customer, one not.

I have to agree with the person who was happy with their services. Over the last 30 plus years we've moved all over the country, so we have plenty of nightmare stories and good experiences to compare them to.

A representative of CMTR Moving Services came to our home--I think his name was Rick or Patrick--and walked us through the whole process (not knowing that we'd moved so often before). He was polite, very friendly, eager to provide all kinds of tips to reduce our moving expense. But, frankly, it wasn't Rick who impressed me.

It was the movers! Jeff, Ray, Brian and Mike--to this day I remember all of their names! Wow, talk about top-notch! These guys swept in here, padded and wrapped everything in shrink-wrap, and I couldn't believe how efficiently they worked! Personable from start to finish despite the heat and long hours!

Initially, Rick estimated 14 hours for our 3,700 s/f home. In the end, however, the men completed the job in 11 hours. Rick did tell us during our walk-through that he preferred estimating high and losing a job rather than estimating low and ending high, which only infuriates people. You never get a referral from people who spend more moving than they expected to spend, he said.

The bottom line is that I was quite pleased with their services.
