It terms of appreciation more in price which of the two cities, of course similar house size, and lot size. Anybody knows the last 3 years rate of increase? If you were moving into NC and could land a job in both cities which would you choose and why. This will really help me and the family out alot. Thanks.

There's an article in MSN Money, "House Price Appreciation by Metro Area" that lists areas by national ranking according to appreciation rates. Here's what it says about Charlotte: ranks 192 nationally for appreciation; 1st quarter of 2006 appreciation rate 1.13, average for the year 5.68, and 5 yr average 18.81.

For Raleigh: ranks 168 nationally. First quarter of 2006, 2.61. Yearly average for 2006, 6.77, and 5yr average 19.78.

Hope this helps.
