Moving to Tokyo...need to sell everything at once
Hey guys....
My former boss, who lives in the Upstate of SC, was just reassigned to Tokyo and needs to sell all of the contents of his house at once. The company will take care of selling the house but he has to liquidate his personal belongings. He has an entire house full of exquisite furniture, electronics, a piano, etc.... He has asked me to help him find a reputable company which would come in and buy the entire house full of furnishings at a fair value. I know that with corporate and military reassignments, there must be services that do this but I've never had the occassion to search for one before. If any of you could make recommendations, I would deeply appreciate the help! He is not interested in working with individuals or selling piece by piece.
Thanks for any help that you can throw our way.

Tell him to take out everything he wants and then list the rest on Craigs List as a Moving Sale.

Thanks for the input but he is adamant that he does not want to deal with multiple people and take calls, etc.... There has to be an agency/company out there which does this for people....that's what I'm looking for specifically.

There should be auction companies in town that handle estate sales. They will do it all.

I know in NC they have professional auctions all the time for people in those kind of situations. It's a one-day thing! They put up advertisements and seem to have some great turn-outs! If it's in SC I am sure they do the same thing as we do in NC!

Thanks. I had not thought about an actual on-site auction but that seems like it might an answer. If anyone has had good experience with any specific auctioneering houses, please send me the info. I want to make sure we pick a firm who knows what they are doing, charges reasonable fees and has a good contact list to draw in lots of people.
