Question Will a 25F from Wisconsin like North Carolina?

I want to know whether I'll like North Carolina if I move there.

I'm 25 years old, a white female, born and raised in Wisconsin. I like Wisconsin because the people there are pretty open-minded (tolerant of all races, sexual orientations, willing to try new things, etc.) and they're educated (most have graduated from college). I don't like it because of the 20-below weather and lack of much to do (I like clubs/bars, nice restaurants, shopping).

Recently, I moved to Kentucky (near TN). I don't like it as much as I thought I would because of the people! Yeah, I know this goes against what I said about WI people being open-minded, but I can't stand being SURROUNDED by people who aren't very intelligent (read: rednecks). lol Sorry, I know ALL of them aren't like this, but a lot are. I wish their attitudes/education levels were more "Northern." What are people like in NC??

Ideally, I'd live 15 minutes from a bigger city like Charlotte or Raleigh. I've never been to NC, but I think it sounds like the people there may be more like those from WI, but in addition you get NC's nicer weather and more to do?? What do you all think? And if this isn't the case, is there a better state that would fit my needs?

I am a 25 year old female from Michigan.
I LOVE it here I live north of Charlotte in the Lake Norman area. I think you would like this area as well. It is a somewhat upscale area filled with a lot of transplants. I find it VERY similar to the area I grew up in.
I can't handle the country way of life, which is why I am happy in this area! Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

Thank you so much! I am glad to finally get some advice from someone who knows both places. I'll have to look into the Lake Norman area!
