Default Help is needed...

I have 2 jobs offers. One is located in Washington, DC area and the second in Winston-Salem.
My wife and I currently live in Massachusetts with our son. We're in our early 30s'.
Can anyone give us an idea of the 2 areas (cost of living, apartment rental, child care facilty, job opportunity etc..) before we make a final decision? I will be making around 60k/year.
We appreciate any input?

Much cheaper in Winston-Salem than the DC Metro area. Both of you would need to work in DC/Northern VA/MD to make ends meet. I lived in the Maryland suburbs for 30 years.

At that salary level Winston Salem is your obvious choice. PLUS, it's a really nice little place to live

Having lived in the DC suberbs for 23 years and now in Charlottte, NC, I can tell you that your money will go alot further in this state. The landscape is nicer and more spread out and the lifestyles are much more relaxed. Good luck to you

Absolutely Winston Salem would be my choice. I lived in the DC/VA/MD area for 20+ years (moved away a year ago). DC area is extremely expensive compared to WS. Don't get me wrong, DC is a wonderful place to live, its got tons of opportunities for entertainment, history, dining, schools, etc...but ultimately, WS is a much better choice for a young family.
