Putting these three irrelevant factors aside, what REALLY is the primary reason as to why tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians are moving to NC?

Hello, Paul! I don't know why they are coming down, because once they get here, they whine about our schools, our driving, and how we don't have whatever grocery store, blah, blah that was back home. Our unemployment rate is at an all time high, and they complain that the reason they can't get a job is bias! Honestly. Seriously, tho, I agree with loves and ani, altho I do contemplate moving back to Taylor at times to deal with the family and the flower shop.((sigh))

Job, for me. Frankly you can have the NC weather - summers are so oppressively hot/humid, and having lived in the South for many years I also miss having an actual winter ie with snow and all. A 60/70 degree Christmas can't compare to a snowy one to say the least (and as a kids I fondly remember getting off school for "snow days" ). Beaches are OK but not big deal to me. Anyway, not meaning to rip on the South or NC at all, just my .02 that it was really about the job opportunities, and frankly Pittsburgh is IMO very nice - if I could find a really good job there, I'd go as I think PA is a great state to live in generally.

Hey now, let's not lump everyone in one basket. We like it here just fine.
When we came here we sure didn't assume everyone here fit the stereotype so often associated with Southerners.
Now, it sure would be nice if y'all didn't completely freak out when the weatherman says '30% chance of snow' but we just stay in the house while you all slip and slide down the road trying to get the last loaf of bread from Harris Teeter. I'm not complaining, I've adapted.

Moved here in 86 and we would LOVE to return to Massachusetts. Kind of stuck now though as were old and poor. I try to make the best of it but I have never been happy here.

And it's only a matter of time before they'll get enough political clout to turn NC into exactly what they escaped from.
But hey, you'll get good pizza in return, woot!!!!!
