Forbes ranked Raleigh-Cary as the best area for jobs in the United States.

Charlotte-Gastonia-Concord metropolitan area, which ranked 36th, and the Greensboro-High Point area, listed at No. 89.

I read that article. It showed the city of Hickory as one of the worst in terms of job growth, but Hickory was ranked 3rd for the best place to start a business.

Working in geography/demographics in the past, this is why I say one should be VERY careful about looking at one ranking system. The number can be spun to a certain outcome. It's best to look at several rankings/publications and see which areas show up a lot. Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, and Denver show up in a lot of my research in the last several years.
