Default North Carolina products

Any suggestions for products made in North Carolina? We buy most of our food from local farms (can't do seem to live without coffee, sugar and good , olive oil.) We've found a local bath soap and laundry detergent we like (Charlie's.) Any leads on other products made in NC?

Tell me more about the beer. I worked next door to a micro-brewery before I moved down here and they had GREAT beer. I'd love suggestions on what to try here. I tend to drink Blue Moon, but like things like Sam Adams, Long Trail, Magic Hat #9 - nothing too dark or bitter.

Thanks for the links Jules_NC. Those are good resources.

Amyone know some non-foodstuffs? I'd love to find clothing, shoes, fabric, etc.

Meself, I'm a Carolina Brewing Company aficianado. Naturally carbonated is best! It is unlike those big barge sody pop beers that are full of gas. I like the Carolina Pale Ale, the Oktoberfest, Nut Brown Ale, and the 1:30 Saturday tour.

But,
if the bottle is cold enough to leave a water ring on the table, and the box says "B-E-E-R" on the side, and YOU"RE BUYING,
You probably just found my favorite brand.

And
there are other schools of thought...

Some folks like their beer trucked in from far away.

Some folks like to make their own beer.

What do Marshmallow Peeps have to do with beer, or with North Carolina products for that matter?

You can get some pretty darn good bacon and country ham around these parts, too.

Now, ham, that's my weak spot. I could live on ham. I tried one of the fresh local hams from Weaver Street last Thanksgiving and hated it though. Give me a cured, heavily salted, spiral ham with a sugar glaze! How does country ham differ from the typical spiral hams you find in the grocery store?
