Thinking of moving to nc. Where would you chose Greenville area or Winston-Salem area and why??

I would choose a small town outside of Winston-Salem. The reason is I prefer the Piedmont to the area that Greenville is in. I've lived in both areas, and the Piedmont has more to offer.

Winston-Salem is a much larger city in a much larger metro area...it's a little hard to really make a comparison. Of course there are more options for everything in W-S, but it depends on if you want those amenities.

I do not know about Winstone Salem, but I lived in Greenville for about 5 years. Greenville has a very high crime rate. If you plan to live in town and around ECU plan to bolt down everything you own. Greenville is all about the college atmosphere. If you are not into bars, football, and lots of slow moving traffic it is probaly not the place for you.
