Hoping I can get some good advice from NC residents. My husband will be retiring in 1 yr. at the age of 52 and we have decided to move south for several reasons. Our children live in the south, we are tired of winter driving in Pa, and my husband wouldn't mind near yr round golf. I would like to find employment as I am not ready for retirement at age 49. My degree is in Gerontology. We have decided that renting first will be the best avenue as this would allow us time to research different areas for building or buying a home. We have spent time in the outer banks(vacation) and Charlotte area (son resides). I love Charlotte but we want a quieter community with beach access not to far (1-2 hrs). We love historical places with character. I am not crazy about too much traffic for work commute. We live along a river and love views and nature. Please advise and thanks.

Default More info

Took a brief look at some of the homes you had listed and liked what I saw for our price range. One home I viewed with four bedrooms and pool in Bahama area looked very nice. What is Bahama area like and I need more info about subdivision. We really only need 2-3 bedroom but could use space for fitness room or office space. Thanks again. Southbound
