Have you researched Charlotte? Take a look at visitcharlotte.com. Go to the Charlotte sub forum and you'll find lots of info. If you're interested in property values for comparison you can go to my website, found under my profile and do a Property Search. If you have questions send me a note. I can send you a relocation packet if you'd like.

You may consider the Swansboro area, nice small town, or even Cape Carteret- it has about 2000 people, 5 mins to beaches, good restuarnts all around, public library, good size police force. If you need more info just PM me.

The wife and I are moving in about three months (fingers crossed we sell this place first) to the Calabash/Shallotte area. About 35/40 miles from Wilmington. The Brunswick area offers a lot of quiet and is REAL close to the ocean (our pref). Growing Healthcare in the Myrtle Beach area. The wife had a heart problem with her defib a year ago and they were great.
Wilmington is not that far up Rt 17 so I guess work could be found there.
We have been vacationing in the NC/SC beach area for about ten years and we fell in love with it.
There are so many great places in NC so get yourself on the computer day and night and you WILL FIND SOMEPLACE YOU LIKE.

i am moving from Corning, NY to North Carolina...although where in NC, I am not sure..I'd like to be near the Wilmington area..in a smaller town...does anyone have any ideas ? I will also have to look for a job, so I'd need some input there too....I have no children...but do have a dog, so am looking for a pet friendly area also.....

To the jerk out there that gave me a negative rep...I don't see the word "small" here. "not to big" could describe a number of towns surrounding the Charlotte area. Let the OP make a decision. Get a life!
