Default Natural Gas Prices
The state's two largest gas utilities began offering gas at reduced rates Thursday. PSNC Energy has cut rates by 14 percent while Piedmont Natural Gas Co. has reduced rates by 6.6 percent. The North Carolina Utilities Commission approved the changes on Dec. 23, and the decrease reflects a continuing decline in the wholesale price of natural gas.
