Default Newer Subdivisions, Ft Bragg area

Before getting a realtor, I'd like to get some less-biased suggestions here.

Can anyone suggest newer single-family subdivisions in close to Ft Bragg? I have a $125,000-$150,000 budget in mind, and will probably just pay cash. (Yeah, that's a wide range, but I'm allowing for the possibility of a good deal on a foreclosure.)

Where are the better schools? Are there any 1-5 year old houses close to the base that still have good schools?

How close to post do you want to be? Most of the newer subdivisions are 15-30 minutes drive time.

You might check out Acorn Ridge next to Hope Mills. I'm not listing any homes there so I am not too biased

There of plenty of good deals on bank owned homes if you are willing to do a little work to them. We just closed on a home for a client this month. He got it for $93,000 and it appraised for $131,000. The bank even paid most of the closing costs. It only need $2,000-3,000 to fix it up right.

Default Peachtree Crossing Subdivision

Peachtree Crossing Subdivision. These aren't brand new homes (built 2000-2002) but an excellent area, really nice 2 story homes, large fenced yards, great schools and close to Fort Bragg and Pope AFB. I know there are 4-5 homes for sale in this subdivision in your price range. I think you would be happy w/them.

Sorry for the delayed response. I somehow lost this thread...

Wow! Thirty percent off? That sounds like quite a deal! I don't think I'd be looking for anything further than 15-30 minutes away. I'll check out the schools website, but in the meanwhile, please keep the info coming.
