That's most of those months. Usually highs' in the 90's with head index of 100-115. It's can get pretty bad. You will actually get "excessive heat warnings" with the little alarm and ticker on the TV.

And to wes.... NASCAR is important because it is traditionaly a blue collor southern event. They love it. In a non-offensive way, you cuold call it a "redneck sport"

Default auto racing

Another brilliant human sporting endeavor, race around a track at high rates of speed risking life and limb, ear-splitting noise denigrating participants and spectators hearing, and a wanton waste of fossil fuels - yup, that's a real intelligent persons sport if I ever heard of one ya'awl.

Hey, if you are getting negative comments from your friends....might be envy? I dunno. However, now that you are Pre-Carolinians, you have earned the right to say, "Ya'll needta getta grip". If that doesn't work, it is then deemed permissible to "open a can".

NASCAR is popular because that area is where the sport was founded and a majority of the race teams are located there. It is also the fastest growing sport in America. It’s no longer a “red neck” sport, but no one who follows the sport would be offended by the reference, they just laugh and figure that person doesn’t have a clue.

I think they are proud of the reference in all reality. Many Southerners like calling themselves rednecks.

True some are and some non southerners for some reason like the reference. Just like some other offensive names are used by those who’s parents would be deeply offended by them.
When I was growing up in GA the name redneck was not something to be proud of, but today with people making a living as the stereotypical “redneck” I guess it’s meaning has changed some.

That's largely due to Jeff Foxworthy. He has made to into more of a charecteristic rather than an actual person. Everyone has a little redneck in them according to him. He leaves the tounge and cheek stuff to Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White. (Yes, I watch Blue Collar TV and all of the Blue Collar Comedy tours, and laught hystericaly every time.)

Did you know Larry the Cable Guy is from North east?
