Anyone know of Love Valley NC?
I had read about it a while ago. Would it be a nice place to live, I know it has lots of riding, but living? I inquired about a business there for sale, they want $670.000 a little too much for my budget. Would like to open cafe or something and live there w/ my horses. Thanks in advance.

It's out in the boonies and seems to be well-known mostly among the horse people [ http://www.lovevalley.com/ for those interested]. I've been meaning to head that way on my motorcycle just to check it out; it's in a quiet area where I like to ride; but so far all I've done is passed the sign that said "Love Valley --->".
I looked it up, it seems that those who are attached to the area are now working to buy up the land and protect it from developers (YAAY! for them ). The Statesville area is getting more notice now from people who want to live up that way but find the Mooresville area too crowded/expensive.

It's a nice country area with easy access to Statesville. What your life would be like living there is best discussed with people associated with that community. Like I said, it doesn't get a lot of notice outside of horse people or those curious enough to investigate the place.

Love valley
I think that love Valley would be the perfect place to live especially if you don't like close by neighbors.

I used to hear about my school pals going to Love Valley. It was the thing to do in about 1955. I know they have had rodeos and it is open enough in that area to have horses. For a place to live, great; but I would really check before investing in a business venture there.

The countryside is very beautiful, it's a nice drive out through there but I can't recommend this as a destination. Absolutely nothing there unless you ride. Went over Thanksgiving weekend, 2007, and all three businesses were closed. Nowhere to eat or shop and nowhere for many miles (Statesville). The town of Love Valley is about a block long with an old timey Western look. Some buildings appeared to be boarded up. Desperately needs upkeep and vision if ever to be a destination for tourists in cars, not on horses.
So, no, we didn't get what the hype was all about. If there was something we missed, someone please tell me, always seeking good day-trips from Charlotte or Thomasville areas.
