What area would be a good place to move a family? Looking for someplace with really good schools - elementary, middle, high school and college, a more liberal bent politically, low crime, good recreation ie camping, fishing, biking etc. relatively close by. Would be looking for employment in IT and production. Any suggestions? Wanting to get away from Wisconsin winters.

The Charlotte and Raleigh areas would be nice choices with lots of good places to choose from. But I'd give the Raleigh area a slight nod in the college department. Few metro areas in the nation have as many quality, affordable universities as they do.

But just be a bit careful about the "more liberal bend" thing. The Raleigh and Charlotte areas (especially the Charlotte area, where I live) have a nice mix of conservative and liberal who generally get along really well (true diversity). I understand where you're coming from. I guess we all want to spend some of our time with others like ourselves. But we conservatives are wonderful people as well and it would be a shame to miss out on so many wonderful individuals and befriend each other! We'd love to get to know you as well!!

Sorry for the speach! Good luck in your search. We'd love to have you guys!!!
