People I know that studied this and the DMV book said the site was better and they shouldn't have bothered with the book.
I did this too. Took just a bit of time and I took their test in about 5 minutes and passed with 100%. Just know what they tell you to know on this site. Real basic!
This is a reoccurring question here, and it always seems to come as a surprise to people moving here that knowledge of traffic laws and practices are necessary to obtain a drivers license.

No they figure we already know how to read speed limit and stop signs. Maybe they should have some sort of a drivers test for driving when in snows, that would actually be beneficial!

Using that brain dumps site is fine if one is stressed about the test. What's the harm in reading the book before and/or after you get your license? All 7 chapters are online - NCDOT DMV.Granted I've only lived in NC and I had a Driver's ed. class in high school. We had to read the book.
It always amuses me to read posts about how North Carolinians drive (not talking about the idiots that don't use turn signals) or NC rules of the road, for example: not knowing that it's legal to turn right on any red unless there's sign saying otherwise. I think some stress the roads can be eliminated if more people understood the traffic laws and practices in NC.

That exists in pretty much any state and you'll have people from every state not wanting to turn on a red right turn arrow. Doesn't have anything to do with NC or their traffic laws specifically.
Honestly the best way to solve the problem, due to it being so widespread, would be to put a "right turn allowed on red" sign or something, similar to the "no right turn allowed on red" signs.
In addition I haven't really noticed any gross misunderstandings of traffic laws, generally the laws are the same everywhere and people follow them (with the exception of speeding). Making drivers take a test isn't going to solve anything, in fact I would bet the majority forget the information 10 minutes after they've taken the test. It's just like the car inspections, the have such ridiculous standards that it really isn't about safety but more about a revenue stream. The emmissions testing is also a joke in that it only looks to see if all of your systems are operating correctly. My wifes' car burns oil but passes emissions because her "Check Engine" light isn't on. I don't care, but it just goes to show what a joke inspections are.

yea, but you and I did it the old fashion way. Today most people don't drive anyway, the just occupy the drivers seat while talking on the phone, texting, playing with the navigation system, applying make-up, all while sipping on their latta. Actually pay attention and drive, surely you jest.
Naw, just scan a cheat seat, and text your friends on the way home about getting your new license.
I'll be taking driver's license coming soon. Back in New Jersey, they wouldn't bothered to help me to pass this driver's license test! That pisses me off and that's why I'm moving here in NC. My grandma's dear friend is ready to help me to pass this test relatively quickly.
Right now, my birth certificate is held hostage by someone I know in New Jersey. I forget to get it, so I could take a test for driver's license..do I need it?
