Default Whiteville information.....

Hello CD'ers I am writing a book and I need information on Whiteville,Nc in the 1960's. Anything you could tell me is valuable. Especially anything newsworthy or the geographics back then. If any could help me it would be greatly appreciated!!

I use to frequent the Whiteville-Chadbourn area in the late 1960s. About the only thing I recall about the area was its rural farming character and the opening of the new campus for Southeastern Community College around 1967.

I too would be very interested in receiving any information especially News from the late 1950's and 1960s about Whiteville/Columbus County. I was born in Whiteville in 1960 and would like to have some history on the area.Thank you
