I'm fairly new to the area and I moved here from Florida, where we didn't deal with state income taxes.

Does the NC DoR send out 1099-G tax forms for individuals who received a state income tax in the previous year? I received a refund in 2008 for income taxes paid in 2007.

This is the only form I have not received in the mail, and I want to go ahead and file my taxes if I wont be receiving this form from the state.

Yes, they do send them out and you should receive one. That being said, this isn't a form you would need to wait on in filing your taxes. Just look at last year's state tax return for your refund. Unless the state adjusted your refund (in which case, you should have the redetermination paperwork), the amount on your 2007 return is the amount you would use for your return preparation.

The problem is I had two different state refunds direct deposited into the same account and I'm not sure which is which

Thanks for the help though, hopefully the forms are waiting for me in the mailbox today.

If you got refunds from more than one state in 2008, or you got refunds for more than one year in 2008 (ie, you got your 2007 NC and 2006 NC refund in 2008), then both should be included on your federal return.

I have misplaced my tax return for 2008 and need to know what my refund was for the 2008 tax year. How do I get a copy or the amount?
