I'm from Boston and miss going to Epping in NH. We're in the Huntersville area now and the closest 1/4 mile track is Rockingham.
Mooresville is 1/8 mile unfortunatly. So I wouldn't suggest this area to fit your needs. Sadly its one of the few things (in a very very short list) I miss about moving down here.
However the car show at Lowes Motorspeedway is less than a month away

Hi,
We live in northeast NC near Elizabeth City. We have a dirt track here as well as a 1/8 mile strip in Elizabeth City. Also there is the OuterBanks race track(1/4 mi.) that is almost new about 40 miles south of here. We are almost surrounded by water with the Albemarle Sound, Currituck Sound, Dismal Swamp Canal, lakes and rivers and about 45 min. to the Outer Banks. You should look into the entire area. We are currently in Camden County, have been for 8 years and really like it. Elizabeth City is the perfect place for a new business or nearby Edenton, NC. This entire area is rich in history dating back prior to the revolution. Many, many of the original homes are still here and preserved as well as courthouses, etc. Just do a search on Realtor.com for Edenton, Elizabeth City, Hertford, Belvidere, Camden, South Mills, and/or surrounding areas. Good Luck, and you'll love NC no matter where you end up.

Hey guys, Thanks again! We're seriously considering the Southern Pines area. I'm so excited! Also, I have been emailing with some women who have been super helpful at the Sandhills Kids web site.

We're thinking of moving to NC with our 22 yr old daughter who is MMR, IQ 55, talks with difficulty, walks. Doesn't work. Lives with us. We want her to have an aide to help her do yoga classes at the local health club. In a few years she needs to move into a group home because we are older.
We're flexible on where we move, just no tornadoes or hurricanes.
We're moving from northern Illinois.

I would look at Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and the Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary).
