Talking Move to N.C.

Being I'am retired and have researched the the whole Southeast and lived in SouthWest Florida(Englewood) for six years am now looking at N.C. as a compromise to my wife. We returned to Central Pa. a year and a half ago, are now after two winters here ready to go back south. Have researched the area of Laurinburg and went down a few months ago for a visit. Found it a small and very nice town. Wondering if anyone has any opinions of the area. Wife is a licensed Hairstylist and still chooses to work.

Wow, not to be too disrespectful to folks who might like Laurinburg, BUT, there are so many nicer places in NC I would retire to instead! I understand you are trying to get milder winters, so the NC mountain areas are probably not of interest to you, but there are many nicer little communities you might want to look at. How about New Bern, Fuquay Varina, Mt. Airy or Kernersville, just to name a few

Love Central Pa in the summer and fall. Go Nittany Lions. The Holly Springs - Fuquay Varina area has the small town feel with the amenities needed for a quality way of life.

As I stated, my wife still works, so I have to look into a area that has some size or near enough to a town of size for her to drive. And I didn't mean "in" Laurinburg but the surrounding area. Laurinburg has a sizable hospital which is something someone of my age has to be concerned about. But I will look at the areas that anybody has to recommend. Born in Hbg. but live in Liverpool. Thank-You
