Default North vs. South Carolina?

Hey everyone. I'm graduating from college (in Ohio) next year and I'm trying to find a good location in either South/central, NC or North/central, SC. I'm planing on building or buying my own riding center and I wanted to know if there was anyone who was familiar with both areas and could give some pros and cons of each? Or just an idea of the area in each location? I need to be around an area that has a lot of riding competitions as well, I event my horses frequently. So I'm trying to find maybe a good location between Southern Pines and Aiken? I know both of those have many events. My fiancee and I are coming to visit and do a big drive around of these areas this summer. I didn't know if there was anyone on here familiar with the horse industry in these area that could help me out. Thanks so much for any advice!
