My husband and I are looking for some land or a home to purchase in the Scotland or Richmond County area. If you know of anything, let me know.

Scotland County has the highest property tax rate of the state's 100 counties at the moment. If you choose to live within one of their municipalities, such as Laurinburg, their rate will be tacked on to the county's rate.

If you google real estate agencies in either/both counties, you'll find lots of properties for sale. Do you have specific questions you want answered?

Thanks for the good information. I grew up in Richmond County...next door to Scotland County. My family has lived in Laurinburg for about 30 years now so I'm no stranger to the area. As for the taxes, they are high, but I live in Virginia now and our taxes are very high too

I do have an agent, but due to a lack of desirable land for sale, I'm reaching outside the MLS and hoping to learn about any for sale by owners if it's out there.
