Default Move from RI to NC

Considering a relocation to NC with husband and 3 children 10,7,5. Looking for advice on best town ideally with great neighborhoods and affordable houses. Preferences: close to excellent catholic elementary and high school, low crime, excellent health care access, less than one hour to major city and ocean. Is youth hockey available in nc?

Not many Catholic schools in NC. There is one however in a town called Havelock, which is near New Bern. This would be near the coast. The beaches are about 35 min. away, maybe less. It's an affordable area. Hospitals? 2 are less then 30 min. away and are okay. Then Pitt Memorial in Greenville which is excellent is about an hour and a half away. Your biggest problem will be the Catholic Schools. I'm a transplanted New Englander and it seems like most people here are Baptist. They really didn't like me (Unitarian/New Age) but don't think they would have TOO much trouble with Catholics!

It's a little further than an hour to the ocean (but not that far!), but try Holly Springs, Apex, Fuquay Varina, maybe Cary. All are within the 'Triangle'/Raleigh area and are very good up-and-coming places. Good schools and good healthcare is nearby.
